29th JAI Global Awardee Dr. Yukteswar Kumar from UK in Social Political Activist

Dr. H K Sethi, Seceratary-General of the Journalist Association of India declared Dr. Yukteswar Kumar as an awardee of the 29th JAI Global Awards in the Social Political Activist (NRI) Category here in a well-organized ceremony in a banquet hall in Connaught Place, New Delhi, India. 
 
Awards conferred in the presence of an august audience, today by Hon’ble Chief Justice of India (Former) Hon’ble K G Balakrishnan, Hon’ble Union Minister of India Mr. Ramdas Athawale & Mr. T P Aggarwal of Film Federation of India
 
29th Awardee U. K London Dr. Yukteshwar Kumar Deputy Mayor: Dr Yukteshwar Kumar is the first deputy mayor of the Unesco heritage city of Bath (UK) from Indian and Asian heritage. He is also the first person from India to teach Chinese at any premier Western university. As a sinologist and community champion, he appears regularly in Indian, British, and Chinese electronic and print media, and a library was established in his name in Bihar recently.
 
डॉ युक्तेश्वर कुमार भारतीय और एशियाई विरासत से यूनेस्को विरासत शहर बाथ (यूके) के पहले डिप्टी मेयर हैं। वह किसी प्रमुख पश्चिमी विश्वविद्यालय में चीनी भाषा पढ़ाने वाले भारत के पहले व्यक्ति भी हैं। एक सामुदायिक चैंपियन के रूप में, वह भारतीय, ब्रिटिश और चीनी इलेक्ट्रॉनिक और प्रिंट मीडिया पर नियमित रूप से दिखाई देते हैं और हाल ही में बिहार में उनके नाम पर एक पुस्तकालय स्थापित किया गया है।

Dr. Yukteshwar Kumar is a trailblazer person from Indian descent in Southwest Britain and is the first Indian heritage elected councilor in the city of Bath, UK. His influence spans beyond politics, encompassing academia and philanthropy. As a Senior academic at the University of Bath since 2007, before teaching at Santiniketan, Delhi University, and JNU, he’s deeply connected with the community. Notably, he made history as the first Asian Deputy Mayor of Bath, highlighting his commitment to meaningful change. Dr. Kumar’s philanthropic efforts range from aiding the homeless to contributing during the pandemic, showcasing his compassion. With media engagements and international contributions, he is a vocal advocate for peace, equality, and global relations. Rooted in principles of public conduct and recognized for his influence, Dr. Kumar is a community champion, inspiring others to contribute to society. His journey from student activism to a visionary leader reflects his enduring commitment to inclusivity and justice. He was pivotal in establishing a temple in the city of Bath, UK and a library was established in his name in Bihar by the senior IG officer, Vikas Vaivabh last month.
